CUANDO NO TENEMOS ESPERANZ

Eliseo heredó de Elías el rol de profeta en la tierra. En 2 Reyes 4, Eliseo se enfrentó a una de sus primeras grandes pruebas cuando se le acercó una mujer sunamita cuyo hijo justo había fallecido. En desesperación, ella le dijo a Eliseo, "Yo he orado y ayunado, he llorado y suplicado pero no he recibido nada de parte del Señor. Con la partida de mi hijo, yo no tengo la fortaleza para seguir adelante. Simplemente no sé qué es lo que Dios está haciendo. Esto es más de lo que puedo soportar."
Eliseo respondió haciendo algo inusual, " Eliseo dijo entonces a Giezi [su
siervo]: —Ciñe tu cintura." En otras palabras "ciñe tus entrañas."
Entonces él continuó, "toma mi bastón en tu mano y ve. Si te encuentras con alguien, no lo saludes, y si alguien te saluda, no le respondas. Luego pondrás mi bastón sobre el rostro del niño." (2 Reyes 4:29, RV 1995)
Prestando atención a la instrucción de Eliseo, Giezi fue a la casa de la familia y puso el bastón sobre el rosto del niño muerto. No hubo señal de vida, por tanto, Giezi regresó con Eliseo diciendo, "El niño no despierta" (v. 31).
He aquí una pregunta para usted: ¿Qué hace usted cuando todo lo que intenta no da resultado? ¿Hacia dónde se dirige cuando cada esfuerzo que usted hace para salir adelante no logra su propósito?
Existen momentos cuando no tenemos otro recurso mas que Cristo. En esta historia, Eliseo es un tipo de Cristo. Él fue con la familia sunamita se acercó al cuerpo del niño muerto. Cuando él se tendió sobre el niño, poniendo su pie sobre los del niño, su mano sobre la mano del niño, él le infundió aliento. ¿Qué sucedió entonces? Las Escrituras dicen que el niño estornudó siete veces (v. 35). ¡Él estaba vivo!
¿Qué produjo esta vida? Jesús mismo sopló vida en esta situación. Cuando nosotros no tenemos esperanza, recursos, habilidades, Cristo respira vida sobrenatural en nuestras circunstancias.
Haga suya esta oración: "Señor, yo no tengo nada pero tú tienes todo y te necesito a ti ahora. Si tú no soplas sobre mi problema, no voy a salir adelante. ¡Yo no puedo hacerlo, sólo tú, Señor!"
